Utility Software

PC utilities too many times are ignored or misunderstood, yet they are the backbone of every computer’s subsystem. As a customer service, we have documented the utilities that we use here at GeoTech, Inc in order to avert or minimize the need for disaster recovery. The document can be accessed <Here>, in case you are interested.

• If you need a data management that copies, moves, multi-file renames, FTP,etc., then we suggest that you try our favorite - Total Commander. Access PocketPC and other Windows CE devices via ActiveSync directly in Total Commander! Requires installed ActiveSync, otherwise it cannot be installed!
• Total Commander for Windows CE/Pocket PC
• If you are in need of a very powerful 32-bit text editor, then we suggest that you check out UltraEdit-32
• We provide remote support using pcAnywhere, but our recommendation is NetOP.
• Is your hard drive acting up? Don’t trust it? Test it with Western Digital’s Data Lifeguard. The online diagnostic tests any manufacturers IDE disk drive.
• Ad-aware is a free multi spyware removal utility that scans your memory, registry and hard drives for known spyware and scumware components and lets you remove them safely. It is updated frequently.
