ArcPad 7 has been released as a download as of November 23, 2005. The boxed version of ArcPad 7 and ArcPad Application Builder 7 will be shipped sometime during January. Registration codes for ArcPad 7 are being generated for those who acquire the product as a new purchase or as an upgrade prior to shipment in January. Users of ArcPad 6.0.3 purchased after November 27, 2005 will receive a complimentary (free) upgrade to ArcPad 7. Please call us at (601) 992-4965 for discount pricing & details.

However, be advised that the mobile hardware requirements for ArcPad 7 have changed since ArcPad 6.x. ArcPad 7 will not install on mobile devices with the Windows CE 3.0.x operating system. The Windows CE OS version must be 4.2 or better! You may click here for detailed system requirements.

Unfortunately, the Windows operating system is located on a PROM that is manufactured by a specific vendor. As a result, it is very likely that if your mobile device has Windows CE 3.0.x as its operating system, then it is not upgradeable - with just a couple of exceptions. You will have to contact the manufacturer to ascertain your options.

We highly recommend that you download an evaluation copy of ArcPad 7 before making any purchase or upgrade decisions in order to test the compatibility of a mobile device for yourself.
